Lauren Brown is a native Texan who has been calling Alabama home since 2001. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has operated in the Birmingham area since 2005. Lauren attended Red Mountain Institute for the Healing Arts (Birmingham, AL,) and is certified in Clinical Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy. She continued and expanded her education through internationally renowned Klose Training and Consulting (Boulder, CO) in Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy in 2013. She feels passionately about the results this modality consistently brings to a wide array of clientele. Shortly after seeing how helpful this specialty was for clients living with or surviving cancer in particular, she returned to Klose Training in 2015 for Breast Cancer Rehabilitation intensive and enjoys promoting greater health, ease and lifestyle education with this population.

Having enjoyed her own personal yoga practice since 2001, in 2008, she completed the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Heartwood Yoga (Vestavia, AL) and offered weekly group classes, monthly Restorative Yoga workshops and private instruction at Embody Practice Center in Mt. Brook, AL as well as Practice Works in Birmingham, AL. **In-person group classes have ceased since March of 2020 due to the pandemic. ** Lauren currently teaches online via Zoom, and private in-person instruction at Embody Birmingham.

In 2013, Lauren had the pleasure of co-creating Embody Manual & Movement Therapy and Embody Practice Center with 5 other practitioners in Birmingham. The Therapy clinic offers a wide variety of traditional and supplemental therapies including massage therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Feldenkrais, Rolfing Structural Integration, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, Yoga Therapy, Clinical Herbalist Consultation + Clinic, Visceral Manipulation and Thai Yoga massage. Embody Practice Center was home to weekly group classes including yoga, Tai Chi, and Natural Movement fitness as well as hosting continuing education workshop opportunities for bodyworkers, physical therapists and other specialties. The Practice Center closed its doors as of March 2019 and has evolved and moved under the leadership of Becca Impello to Practice Works. Embody Manual & Movement Therapy is now Embody Birmingham, LLC and still offers all of the above therapeutic services, save for group classes and workshops.
